PUL Ruleset Update!
The PUL Gameplay Committee has made several changes to the rules book. Below are four substantive changes to the PUL ruleset for the 2026 season:
Substantive Changes
1) The buzzer-beater has been removed. Q4 and OT 1 will now end in the same manner as Q1-3.
2) The conditions for stopping and restarting the clock that were in place for the final two minutes of Q4 and OT 1 are now in place for the final two minutes of Q1-4 and OT 1.
3) During those final two minutes of each timed period, the clock does not start on the release of the pull. Instead, it starts on the release of the first legal pass that occurs after the pull.
4) A Dangerous Play will now always result in a yardage penalty. Generally 10 yards, with special cases when within 10 yards of either endzone line.
