PUL and WUL to Renew All-Star Rivalry at 2026 UFA Championship Weekend
The Premier Ultimate League (PUL), Western Ultimate League (WUL) and Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) are proud to announce the return of the PUL vs. WUL All-Star Game at 2026 UFA Championship Weekend in Madison, Wisc., Bringing the best women professional ultimate frisbee players back together for a highly anticipated rematch from 2025, the game will take place on Saturday, August 29, at 4:00 p.m. CT at historic Breese Stevens Field in Madison, Wisc.
Following the success of the inaugural matchup in 2025—where the PUL claimed victory in front of a record-breaking crowd of more than 1,500 fans, the largest ever for a professional women’s ultimate game—this year’s All-Star Game promises even more intensity, energy, and elite-level competition.
The roster will showcase standout playmakers, dynamic throwers, and defensive specialists from across the two leagues, creating matchups fans rarely get to see outside of this unique event. Details on how players will be nominated or selected will be announced at a later date.
“This event showed what’s possible when our leagues come together,” said Will Griffin, Executive Director of the WUL. “The atmosphere, the level of play, and the support from the fans made it clear there’s a real appetite for this matchup. We’re excited to give it the platform it deserves and continue building a rivalry that elevates the sport.”
Held during the UFA’s Championship Weekend, the All-Star Game offers unmatched visibility and the excitement of a national championship environment. For players and fans alike, the weekend has become a celebration of the entire ultimate community.
“UFA Championship Weekend has evolved into a true culmination of our sport,” said UFA CEO & Commissioner Tim DeByl . “Bringing together the WUL, PUL, and UFA allows fans to experience the full spectrum of professional ultimate, while creating a shared space to celebrate our athletes, leagues, and the continued growth of the game.”
Last year’s game demonstrated the growing desire for elite women’s competition and the power of collaboration across leagues. This year’s rematch will continue that momentum, building deeper connections between fan bases and expanding opportunities for athletes.
"It is always a privilege to be able to watch elite athletes compete against one another and the WUL vs PUL All-Star Game is the culmination of that, “ said Emma Taylor Soiles, PUL Commissioner. “The best athletes in our sport deserve to have their moment in the spotlight and I am really excited to see the results of this year's game. I am looking forward to the continued collaboration between the professional leagues and getting to enjoy the talent on display."
